Greece: No to the diktats of the Troika, solidarity with the Greek people

The announcement by Alexis Tsipras of the referendum on 5 July, in which the voters will be asked to reject the draft agreement of the Troika, is good news for the Greek people and for all those in Europe who are fighting the policies of austerity. We hope there will be a massive “no” vote to the European diktats emerging from the ballot boxes on Sunday evening.
The leaders of the European Union have thus demonstrated once again their willingness to trample on the fundamental rights of the Greek people by attempting to impose a shameful agreement. In addition, they dare to say that the Greek government has crossed a red line for having announced a democratic consultation of the population in a referendum. The challenge for the coming days in Greece and in the whole of Europe is crucial. All the forces of the labour movement must stand in solidarity in the face of the frontal attack against the Greek people. To save their reactionary institutions and banks, the European leaders of the right and of social democracy will make every effort to combat the choice of no by the Greek voters and try to coerce the Tsipras government into capitulation or resignation.
Rosa Luxemburg est l’une des théoriciennes les plus brillantes du marxisme. Elle fut également l'une des très rares femmes à avoir acquis une légitimité militante dans la Deuxième Internationale, où le patriarcat était - plus encore qu'aujourd'hui - largement dominant. Ses capacités analytiques exceptionnelles, elle les a mis sans pédanterie au service du mouvement ouvrier, au sein duquel elle a milité de toutes ses forces. C'était une personnalité indépendante, qui n'hésitait pas à polémiquer contre l'aile réformiste du parti et des syndicats (en Allemagne). Elle menait aussi le débat au sein même de la gauche révolutionnaire, notamment avec Lénine dont elle contestait la conception du parti (1902-1904), ou à propos du droit à l'autodétermination des peuples et de la démocratie dans l'Etat soviétique (1918). Rosa Luxemburg est une figure tragique. Parce qu'elle a été brutalement assassinée (15 janvier 1919) à l'appel de la social-démocratie qui voulait « rétablir l'ordre à Berlin ». Et surtout parce que son assassinat est survenu alors qu'elle assumait, depuis 1915, le rôle de dirigeante de parti dans le nouveau Spartakus-Bund qui, pas plus que Rosa, n'avait pas accumulé les forces suffisantes pour aborder la situation révolutionnaire.

Quoting Premier Li Keqiang’s March 2015 speech that Japan’s leaders today bear historical responsibility for Japan’s war of aggression in China in the 1930s: “the leaders of a state not only inherit their predecessors’ successes, but should also bear historical responsibility for their predecessors’ crimes,” the group asks: “By the same logic, shouldn’t today’s Chinese leaders bear responsibility for the series of crimes—manmade famine and slaughter—perpetrated in their own country by China’s leaders at the time: Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping?”
Cuando empezamos a construir Ahora Madrid, pocos podíamos de verdad creer que teníamos tantas opciones de impedir la continuidad del Partido Popular en el gobierno del Ayuntamiento de Madrid, y nada menos que con Esperanza Aguirre como candidata. Llegamos a la precampaña con los tiempos muy justos, y nos costó calentar los motores, pero poco a poco la campaña ha ido creciendo de manera sostenida hasta su explosión en la última semana, cuando ha desbordado las propias previsiones de la organización, se ha descentralizado y se ha multiplicado, se ha convertido en muchas campañas a la vez, impulsadas desde cada barrio, desde cada colectivo, pero también promovida por ciudadanos y ciudanas anónimas que convirtieron a Manuela Carmena en un verdadero fenómeno social, en la única alternativa de cambio posible.
Ese “sí se puede” que durante meses retumbo en plazas y calles después de una imborrable Primavera Indignada del 2011 llega ahora como un terremoto a las instituciones, algo inimaginable entonces. La victoria de Barcelona en Comú en Barcelona, con Ada Colau al frente, ha hecho saltar por los aires el tablero político.
Sí se puede, vaya si se puede. Nunca pensé que se pudiera tanto, que fuese posible un vuelco como el de ayer. Pero también queda claro que solos no podemos. Que solos no Podemos. Se ha podido en Barcelona, con un éxito rotundo de Ada Colau, o en A Coruña y Santiago con las irresistibles Mareas. Se va a poder, pactando con el PSOE, en Madrid y Zaragoza. El balance es impresionante, pues hablamos de varias de las mayores capitales.
Estás elecciones demuestran que algo ha cambiado ya. La derrota histórica del Partido Popular es una impugnación contundente a las políticas de recortes de derechos, de democracia, una autentica bofetada a las políticas que han llevado a la mayoría social trabajadora a una situación de empobrecimiento continuo mientras las élites se enriquecían. Es natural porque el electorado está compuesto mayoritariamente por la gente que genera todos los días riqueza con su trabajo y que ha sufrido la crisis. Hay un avance fundamental en estas elecciones: la consolidación de herramientas políticas como las Candidaturas de Unidad Popular y Podemos, a través de las cuales la gente se ha podido expresar. El mandato popular es claro: echar al PP de todas las instituciones sin permitir que el PSOE articule un recambio superficial.
